How amazing! Directed by the fab/ avant garde Jonas Ackerlund.
Beware of glam 8 minute movie!

I love Jonas Ackerlund ever since his Madonna and Christina Aguilera Videos.
His videos are like moving high fashion Photographs.

She is no one trick pony. This video is pure poetry. It is a visual feast. I love the images and metaphors for death.  It is also a satire. This video works on so many levels. It has layers, as Shrek would say.

I get chills, thinking about the reality of that paparazzi world.  I started to thinking about Britney Spears and Princess Diana.

I also love Lady G’s fashion evolution and she is not simply doing the hot pants, the hood and the shoulder pads…she is growing.

And now we understand her obsession with that tea cup she has been papped so much with. Nice foreshadowing Lady G!

And I can’t believe that guy used the “c” word on Gaga early in the vid! MTV will be sure to censor that out.

Anyways, I think this video proves Lady Gaga’s legitimacy not only as a pop star, but a true artist.

It took Madonna 3 years to get there with her Like a Prayer video, it only took Gaga 2 music videos.

By the way, my definition of an artist is someone who has something to say to the world, to express, and is doing it through art.

Enough of my analytical BS.  What do YOU think?

OMFG. I don't even have words to explain what I feel, nor do I have the energy to express my love. Like, yeah. I really wish I could explain it but I can't.

In other words, I like the video.

And no, I didn't get that from any blog. I remember it from the "Super Heros Fashion and Fantasy" exhibit at the Met last year. :P I saw that dress in real-life!

Really great. The song in itself has so much depth. I'm not totally on board yet though...

I think the video is 100 times better than the song by itself.

lol lucky girl Kasia...it was bugging me and I knew I've seen it before somewhere... i was thinking Thierry Mugler but I couldn't find it.

It is odd how Gaga didn't borrow anything from the spring dolce collection...I mean, she had the whole micky mouse motif thing going on.

The "hairtower" is great....

Anyone else get the feeling that the song is sort of telling as to why she has this strong desire for "fame" in the first place? When she says "Papa-Paparazzi" to me, it sounds like that extra "Papa" is there for a reason, almost as though she is pointing out that her father, or both her parents, didn't give her the attention and love necessary, causing her to hope to seek that feeling of being loved through achieving global acknowledgement. Almost like "the fame" is a ministration to the lack of adoration her parents gave her as a child. The more pictures taken of her, the more attention she gets, the more loved she feels.

I don't think that theory should apply to lady gaga exclusively kasia...it could apply to any fame hungry person in hollywood who gets a high out of being followed by the paps and TMZ...being talkd about by perez...

that's why I am loving Gaga so much...don't dismiss her for her facade because this girl is much deeper than she looks...her album has a deeper meaning (maybe except for Just Dance)

Kasia said...

Yeah, I know. Of course. I mean, everything about Lady Gaga is about attention. Anyone who performs for thousands of people, and wears the things that Lady Gaga wears, obviously has a need to be noticed, and loved in life.

By the way, do you think that the white jumpsuit was designed by Margiela for her? I mean if the blue material is denim (I can't really tell because of the quality of the video...) than it kind of looks like a combination of these three pieces: i41.tinypic.com/8wipgo.jpg

I doubt Martin Margiela would design a custom costume for Lady Gaga.

Kasia said...

You're right, but who knows? That's what pays the bills. Haha! She has bought from him before, but, yeah, I don't think he would either. Margiela is definitely one of the most copied designers. I mean his original ripped jeans have been blatantly copied by TopShop.
