It was between Givenchy & Christian Dior. But, I had to go with Galliano on this one. It wasn't really my style, but it was just very refreshing and the artistry behind the garments was impeccable as usual with Galliano. Givenchy was also very nice and very true to the brand's style, but I found it to be a little too one-note, and I don't really like how the actual show was casted, and directed. Lara and Lakshmi looked great, but some of the models just looked too dazed and lifeless to be wearing such dramatic garments, which isn't something I would do with Haute Couture. Couture should be filled with spirit and life in my opinion. Models can be mannequins when it comes to ready-to-wear, but for Couture, there should be at least some hands on hips, and some seductive stares. The pieces at Givenchy were great, but from my perspective - it's not just the garments, but the women wearing them.
This is Couture, in my opinion: i28.tinypic.com/5vpsll.jpg
Regardless of what you think of the garments, the models give them life, and spirit.
You're totally right Kasia; I think it is absolutely necessary for the models to walk and pose elegantly for Haute Couture and not just walk down the runway.
