Giv-me Givenchy

Werq Karlie, werq.  I had to pause when I saw her.  She was definitely a “stopper” at this show. And let us take a second to talk about the picture above. How awesome would it be to if you were walking down the street and accidentally stumble upon a couture show?

Of all the haute couture collections so far, I have to say Givenchy is my favorite. I just love how Ricardo Tisci elaborates on previous themes like the gold chains. Still, I hope he doesn't follow the Decarnin way and take the concept that made him famous to an extreme.

But the good thing about this collection is that I can feel his potential brewing. Although I don’t doubt that this collection is fucking beautiful, I want to so see something almost drastically new from Tisci. I love his aesthetic but i hope he doesn't end up like Galliano where he becomes predictable (Galliano hasn't been able to throw me off my seat me since 2006). I want to be surprised and be floored by it with pret-a-porter a couple of months from now.

Now enough of my pretentious and slightly condescending rambling. On with the shows highlights.
 
I love the gold headress! I can’t wait to see them in editorials.

Just how proud would Michael Jackson be with these looks? And how unreal does Natasha look with that hair? What do you guys think of the all black hair?

Uhh…Lara your twins are…nevermind.

Why did they put her in this outfit? As if her breasts weren’t obvious enough, they make it look two times bigger. And the same goes for Lakshmi’s outfit that makes any torso look awkward. These two could've worked the hell out of more interesting garments.

Oh, excuse me. Did I stumble into another Nina Ricci show again? Spring on the left and fall 2009 on the right.

These two were so unexpected but I feel that they tied to the collection well enough.  They seem to be remnants of last season’s couture show, along with the veiled ones below.

I couldn’t help but be reminded of JPG’s icon collection. Karlie werq.

The craftsmanship and detailing of this jacket gives me goosebumps.
 

Two things to focus on with this look. The blood stained- like hem of the dress and OMG with the bracelets! They may not have the potential of the gold chained necklace to be that trendy but OMG!

Overall, a fine show. Cathryn Horyn should eat her harsh words now. How could you not love this collection?
