Now, on that Beth Ditto thing...

So, as many of you might have heard, “Beth Ditto is a fat lesbian. She’s also a fashion “icon”. Hilarious, isn’t it? I love fashion people, I really do. They’re so… how do I put this? Stupid? Yes, that’s it. They’re so stupid. Here’s what happened: stung by criticism of their unhealthy obsession with rexy supermodels, they hit back by lionising a pathologically exhibitionist 16 stone woman from Arkansas. Clever, huh? That’ll get the feminazis off their case. How can anyone say they only promote thin women when they are so enamoured of a porker like her?” Alex Bilmes, Features Director of British GQ, causing some controversy on their blog

Now, that was very blunt, and quite rude. But, it is a good point, no?

I love Beth Ditto, and I'm happy she's getting covers. I don't think magazine put her on the covers just because she's fat. Yes, being fat is kind of her "thing". But if you ignore it, she's fierce, and every time I see a picture of her in some random red carpet event she looks amazing.
And I think the magazines realy like her, and that it's not only because of the critisizm againt them. Like, I think she got her Love cover because she's fierce and controversial. I guess the fact that she's fat is a part of her being controversial thing, or maybe more like, that she doesn't care that she's fat. I loved it so much when she wore a Herve Ledger bondage dress! It was hilarious and entertaining, and that's what I want from a celeb.
I like all those shameless celebs like Gaga and Paris :-)

I sort feel bad to admit it but there is a point in there. I think that could be exactley what happened.

Yeah, I know. It just kind of seams like she's being taken advantage of, to send a message almost. If she was thinner, you're right, I think she could still work her way into magazines, but I don't think they would have her pose nude for every single one.
