It was bound to come.
I don't know though, this is something that has been done very pleasantly before - both by Vogue, Disney, ect... I don't know why people feel the need to take an idea and redo it with a trillion dollar budget and then try to pass it off as creativity.

I hear that this movie is different because Alice is 17 in this story and she goes back to Wonderland.

I love Tim Burton's reimaginings...he always a has a fresh perspective on a beloved tale, and treats it with respect, as he did with Batman and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

"The traditional tale has been freshened with a blast of girl power, courtesy of writer Linda Woolverton. Alice, 17, attends a party at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types. Off she runs, following a white rabbit into a hole and ending up in Wonderland, a place she visited 10 years before yet doesn't remember."

not at all like the other versions who meerely adapted or squeezed Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass together.
