It was bound to come. I don't know though, this is something that has been done very pleasantly before - both by Vogue, Disney, ect... I don't know why people feel the need to take an idea and redo it with a trillion dollar budget and then try to pass it off as creativity.
I hear that this movie is different because Alice is 17 in this story and she goes back to Wonderland.
I love Tim Burton's reimaginings...he always a has a fresh perspective on a beloved tale, and treats it with respect, as he did with Batman and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
"The traditional tale has been freshened with a blast of girl power, courtesy of writer Linda Woolverton. Alice, 17, attends a party at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types. Off she runs, following a white rabbit into a hole and ending up in Wonderland, a place she visited 10 years before yet doesn't remember."
