Prada Fall 2009 Look Book and Full Campaign
Looks like something Yaelalon or Gkmtk would do.
I must quite admit, when I saw the Fall 2009 collection go down the runway, I was a bit thrown. “What the heck is Miuccia up to now? Has she gone senile? Short shorts and waders for a fall collection? I don’t get it.” But now I see the genius of her vision, thanks to various recent editorials and this Meisel ad campaign. This collection is so photogenic with it's rich textures, exquisite detail and plush color, that it is just begging to be photographed.
This collection is such a stark contrast to the ethereal, angelic, bright white aesthetic of the Spring 2009 campaign, which made the girls look like something from a column frieze of a Greek or Roman temple. This time around, they go to the murky marshes to explore the dark, mysterious and sinister. It takes masterful skill to go from light to dark in just one year.
Unlike the hit and miss formula of Louis Vuitton’s campaign (thanks in due to Madonna’s understandable but diva-ish insecurity with aging by insisting on tampering with the photos via photoshop “solarization” and ruining the whole campaign in the process) these ads by comparison is a huge hit for me.
In just one year, Steven and Miuccia has sent us from heaven to hell. And I enjoyed every second of this daring ride.
Here is the spring 2009 campaign, which ranked as one of my favorites of Spring 2009.

To be honest, I don't like Prada and I never even did. You can kill me if you want :)
But the lookbook is great. Prada is just not my type of clothes.
I'm on board.
I'm glad SOMEBODY is finally expirimenting with their ad campaigns.
I like the look book more than the ad campaign.
great editorials!
The Fall 2009 campaign and lookbook is brilliant. Miuccia is my (only) favorite female designer.
