Wear Cavalli If You Want To Let It All Hang Out

As I was looking for those pictures of Snej from the Spring 2006 show, I came across these.

Anja had a pretty nice rack back in the day.

But what a skanky ass show right? It is riddled with nip slips and wardrobe malfunctions.  Just check out Lily C fixe her heel/hem in the middle of the runway below.

God that PETA lady at the Christian Dior show makes me so mad. Seriously, that show was incredible. Beauty is something that I believe is dying in our society. I'm not talking about those 'sexy' bleach blonde, orange skinned celebrities on the red carpet - that is definitely not dying. But real art, real vision, is what's dying. The world is so overpopulated with gross people - it seams like there are only such small regions left (certain places in New York, Milan, Paris, London, etc..) where beauty is really created. New York Magazine published a great article on those Bravo reality TV shows with those "NYC Prep" kids and those Housewives and how they're basically ruining our society. New York - especially in my region - is filled with people like that and it's so unsettling to think that we're being viewed by different countries by those people, because there are certain people like myself who don't want anything to do with that tasteless lifestyle. There is so much wealth where I live, but absolutely NO taste. That's why I love surrounding myself with fashion magazines, and images of fashion shows and artwork - designers, artists, editors and models, it's definitely an escape. Hopefully one day I can live in that world.

Anyway, to me it seams like Galliano has provided the world with so much beauty and vision that it's just depressing to see people try to devalue that.

I second the above.
My hometown is shit. Sorry for the fowl language, but I cannot describe it any other way. There is zero fashion whatsoever, so magazines and the internet (and my imagination) is my only escape.

And about the wardrobe malfunctions...Lol. I can relate. I totally flashed the whole beach yesterday. The waves were so big...

I third the above its so true what your saying Kaisa,I am the same when it comes to using artwork and fashion as an escape, honestly I no I would be completely lost and depressed without my drawing pad, fashion magazines and internet, art is something that has so much meaning a way of relating feelings and understanding ones self, I have been through some shitty times in my life and serious downpoints, and when I look back to even this tme last year the arts of fashion, drama and fine art are what really got me through it, people really abuse fashion I mean it shapes all societies and has been around since the beginning of time. its more than just skinny models walking in expensive clothes, there are pieces of art, rare and unique with so much time and detail put into them.

anywhoo I'm starting to ramble and have probably gone of the subject completely hehehe

LOL I have has my accidents with swim wear on the beach, and more embarrassing at a water park.

I don't agree with the use of real fur, although if its done very humanly then I guess I could live with it, but Peta always go way to far, they don't have any right to try and destroy someone's serious hard work and money, it may be wrong to use fur but its also wrong what they do (so messed up)

that's so funny how the model pushed him over good for her (Ill bet Galliano loves her for that)
oh and is the model Sasha ??

Yeah, I understand what you mean. Everyone has their own views on what's important. Everyone has their own definition of beauty. Some love nature and landscapes, some love animals, some love taste, some love smell, some love love - everyone views beauty in different ways. For me, the most beautiful and fascinating thing in the world is the human race. I find people more interesting than anything else. When I see a designer like Galliano's creations on the runway on beautiful women - to me, there is nothing more godly and incredible.

Some people may say it's stupid, and "no one could ever wear that", but from my perspective they're just missing the point. Galliano isn't about practicality, he's about letting go, and challenging the world to dream. Telling a story by expressing his vision. Refusing to limit beauty, and refusing to follow the rules of society. That is something that is so rare to find in a person, and I think we should all cherish his contributions.

I recommend you watch this video, it's what got me interested in fashion:

And no, it's not Sasha. This was before she began modeling I believe. :)

WOW thank you for showing me that video I'm blown away it was beyond amazing this has just made me love him even more he has such a unique mind his collection's always feel like they have a meaning a hidden feeling in them his way of expressing whats going on in his head, John Galliano is a complete legend and will go down in history forever, his and Alexander McQueen's are always my favourite shows and pieces to see, they really sum up the meaning of fashion to me.

Yeah, I agree. He's an incredible gift. He is actually very similar to the late Christian Dior in the way that his whole life has been devoted to giving beauty to the world, and living to create. He says that it's his duty to challenge people to dream, and he has done just that.

Haha, Rima. :P
