Rest In Peace

Oh my god. This is a shocker to say the least. According to TMZ, Michael Jackson has died at the young age of 50 from a heart attack. This week three American icons have passed. This is extremely tragic. Although Micheal was the plot-line for many jokes, it was undeniable that he was the king of pop, and truly one of the most talented people in the history of music. A legend, and an inspiration to so many. Rest in peace Michael.

This makes me want to cry. Appropriate for the occasion. “You got a friend in me”

FTV Icons by Gaby Herbstein
Gaby Herbstein is another Argentinian photographer I admire.
Fashion TV Latin America hired her to do a series of portraits and short films about 12 Icons, people admired for a reason. I saw the backstage of these photoshoots and I have to admit it was a tough call to chose which icons. The rest just flowed naturally. Gaby is such a great photographer and nice person, and many models wish to be part of her photoshoots.
You can watch the backstage and pics here
and here... Enjoy!

Farah

Farah Fawcett by Andy Warhol
Farah Fawcett, one of the biggest icons of American pop culture is currently fighting a very serious battle with cancer. I got a chance to watch the end of her documentary "Farah's Story" which aired on NBC tonight, and I teared up from just the few minutes I had seen. And I must say I do not cry a lot. Towards the end, from what I saw, they showed more of what condition Farah was in at this moment. They didn't really show her physical appearance in depth, but you saw that she was resting in bed. From prison, her son Redmond who, at age 23, has struggled with a very serious drug addiction was able to visit her. He crept into the bed to lye beside her, "I don't know who this is" Farah exclaimed. "I love you" she said soon after. Red lay there beside her "Mommy" he said before he started to cry. Then, this mother and her child, both struggling, were able to go back. Back to the simple moments years ago.
It is said that Farah had written a note that says "I've lived a full and wonderful life. I've loved and been loved. I'm happy. I'm ready."
I know that hope is fading, but it's important to keep it present.
